DescriptionThe Public Policy Analyst II is responsible for tracking state and federal legislation and regulation, communicating policy updates within the organization, conducting health policy research, leading internal meetings, and leveraging subject matter expertise on important public policy issues. The Public Policy Analyst will work with the Manager of Public Policy and the Vice President of Public Policy and Government Relations to execute Medica's public policy agenda. The Public Policy Analyst will also work closely with Medica's Legal and Compliance teams and other internal business partners to assess potential business impact of regulatory and legislative changes.
Key Accountabilities


  • Share responsibility for monitoring state and federal legislative/regulatory activities and appropriately assess their impacts against Medica's business needs
  • Share responsibility to communicate all relevant state and federal legislation and regulation to internal business partners and gain their input as dictated by business needs
  • Conduct topical research and make recommendations on current health care policy issues to support Medica's thought leadership in the public policy space
  • Represent Medica and its public policy interests in external forums, such as Trade Associations and other committees and task forces as necessary

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience in related field. JD or Masters degree in Public Policy or Healthcare preferred
    • 3+ years of related work experience beyond degree
    • Thorough understanding of legislative and regulatory processes

        This position is a Hub role, which requires an employee to occasionally come onsite to the designated office - Madison, WI - for applicable heads-up work. Frequency is determined by business need as decided by leadership.
        The full salary range for this position is $54,100 - $92,800. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
