In the USA, Asahi imports, markets and sells the Asahi Super Dry
beer brand as well as the spirits brand Twisted Shotz. Very
excitingly, EMEAA has recently purchased a fantastic new production
facility in Wisconsin USA, Octopi. This marks a key step forward in
accelerating our growth journey and realizing our ambitions for our
Global Brands, most notably Asahi Super Dry for North
America.Established in 2014 and expanded several times, Octopi's
modern production facility was built from the ground up to make a
wide range of beverages including beer and RTDs. Its
state-of-the-art packaging lines cater to fill multiple styles and
sizes of bottles and cans for maximum flexibility in packaging.

(asahiinternational.com) Key Purpose of the roleThe Supply Chain
Director will be responsible for delivering all aspects of
end-to-end Supply Chain for the combined Asahi Beer USA, Octopi and
Twisted Shotz/RTD businesses. This includes customer service,
demand/supply and materials planning as well as all warehousing &
logistics activities. They will lead the S&OP agenda for the
region ensuring that there are no functional or regional silo's,
ensuring delivery of volumetric and financial targets with a
customer service excellence mindset. This will be a challenging
role, involving everything from developing strategy, developing the
capability of the team, implementing best practice Demand and
Supply Management across multiple states including Licensing
contracts with other brewers and or customers.This role is key to
enabling USA's long-term growth ambition and is responsible for
bringing all US entities together to form one coherent business
with supply chain optimized across all product types and
distribution models.
Key Responsibilities & OutputsStrategic / Business Leadership
- Lead the integration of Octopi Supply Chain into AEI/EMEAA such
that it is quickly established as operating BAU, consistent with
AEI processes and best practice
- Developing the long term strategic Supply Chain plans for the
US Business Unit to deliver brand and commercial targets
- Work as a key member of AB USA's Leadership Team supporting
delivery of the overall Business unit goals
- Responsibility for orchestrating the S&OP process in AB
USA, in alignment with the EMEAA planning teams
- Develop short/medium and long term plans for the optimisation
of physical supply chains and warehousing footprint to enable
future growth, improve service, reduce cost & SCOPE3 CO2 impact
(will require partnership with Canadian peers)
- Work alongside the Commerical teams to build customer
engagement plans, based on joint Supply Chain collaboration
opportunities
- Full P&L and Balance sheet responsibility for all Supply
Chain activities
Demand & Supply Planning
- Lead the development and implementation of one integrated
Demand planning process across the AB USA business
- Develop a glide path to significantly step change and improve
Forecast Accuracy and Demand Bias across the integrated Supply
chain, including a suite of internal metrics, to be jointly
implemented across the Commercial and Supply Chain teams, based on
FMCG best practice
- Responsibility for all Supply and materials Planning activity,
working with the Central Planning teams to model both short and
long term capacity planning.
Logistics/Warehousing
- Responsibility for optimising all Logistics activities across
AB USA, optimising existing processes as well as designing the
future state to deliver all Customer Service targets
- Manage all 3PL (Warehouse & Logistics) contracts, ensuring
compliance to KPIs and joint business planning activities to
improve efficiencies and reduce costs
- Map out current and future requirements for systems
integrations of WMS and ERP systems to ensure optimal
solutions
- Work with procurement on annual tendering process and RFP's to
ensure best possible cost/service
Team Leadership & Capabilities Development
- Develop the capability of the team and evolve the Supply Chain
structure to support the maturity of our systems and processes
- Successfully integrate the Octopi SC teams into functional
areas consistent with AEI practice including the gap analysis of
existing workforce to allow targeted training and development
- Lead / Support continuous improvement initiatives including
automation agenda for AB USA
ExperienceBusiness Leadership
- 10+ years experience, leading Supply Chain activities in an
FMCG business, across multiple sites at a national level
- Strong experience of building team capability both in the short
and long term
- Ability to manage experienced Stakeholders at all levels of the
business
- Integrity, reliability and confidence
Functional Leadership
- Experience of integrating multiple demand and planning
processes into one aligned way of
- working
- Demonstrated capability to run an S&OP process at company
and SLT level
- Strong business acumen, understanding priorities and functional
requirements
- Strong analytical skills in order to assess and drive business
performance in a dynamic context
Strategy & Planning
- Clear demonstrated experience of driving a Continuous
Improvement culture across all Logistics activity to optimise
service to the end customer and drive efficiencies and cost
savings
- Good strategic level thinking, with the ability to focus on
delivering short term changes, whilst not loosing focus of the
long-term strategy
- Problem analysis, judgment, decisiveness; independence;
