Job Title: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Must have experience in intracranial pressure monitoring or ventriculostomy. Must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. License: Must have nursing license for location or compact license. Certifications: BLS/ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association. Basic Arrhythmia experience required. Telemetry test must be passed prior to start. Must-Have: Nurses will provide intensive care to patients who are acutely ill from a neurological deficit. Description: This role involves working in a specialized unit focusing on subarachnoid hemorrhages, unstable ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain, and spinal cord injuries. The unit is a 16-bed ICU providing ICP and hemodynamic monitoring of unstable patients. Nurses will have the opportunity to work with severe neurological, neurovascular, and neurosurgical populations. Floating to different units may occur depending on staffing needs. Orientation is approximately 20 hours. Flu vaccine is required, with medical/religious exemptions only. Weekend rotations and some holidays are required. Orientation takes place in a specified location according to the welcome letter instructions.
