Description:Job Summary:
The Beverage Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that
all aspects of our beverage products, including malt beverages,
distilled spirits, wine, and sake, comply with federal and state
regulations. They have a strong understanding of TTB (Alcohol and
Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau) regulations, state registration
process, FDA requirements, and excise tax obligations across
multiple states.
Primary Responsibilities:
- COLA/Formula Approval: Apply for Certificate of Label Approvals
(COLA) and formula approvals through the TTB and each state where
the company operates. Obtain Certificates of Analysis (COA's),
Flavor Identification Sheets (FIDS), and spec sheets for
flavors/fruits as needed for product approval.
- Product Registration: Register internal and contract malt
beverages, distilled spirits, wine, and sake products for sale in
the United States.
- Label Compliance: Provide guidance to internal teams and
external partners on acceptable labelling practices, ensuring all
labels meet TTB and FDA regulations. Work with Legal and Marketing
teams on label wording.
- Destruction and Use-Up Documentation: Prepare and submit
necessary documents to both the TTB and the destruction facility,
ensuring proper documentation for Finance.
- TTB Licensing: Obtain and maintain necessary TTB licenses.
Provide ongoing guidance on requirements to ensure continuance in
our license to operate and achieve our business objectives,
including advice on export requirements.
- State Licensing: Obtain and maintain the necessary state
licenses for the sale of products in each state where the company
operates. Provide ongoing guidance on state-specific
requirements.
- Excise Tax Reporting: Report product shipments and handle tax
reporting and payment for excise taxes for each state the company
sells in.
- Overseas Shipments: Complete and submit all necessary
documentation for shipments with TTB and each state, working with
the Distribution team as needed.
- Distributor Relations and Logistics: Collaborate with Account
Managers to manage distributor relations, contracts, and logistics
as they relate to compliance.
- Bond Management: Obtain and submit necessary bonds to states
and TTB to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Other Permits and License Maintenance: Obtain and maintain all
operational permits and licenses as required to ensure continued
operation of the business and achieve our business objective,
including but not limited to permits and licences from the FDA,
Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Dane County Food and Beverage,
Warehouses, Village of Waunakee, WI Department of Revenue, and Food
and Drink Restaurant licenses.
- Work internally with legal, marketing, finance, distribution
teams.
- Responsible for other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal, and
organizational skills.

documentation and regulatory filings.
- Shows initiative and a willingness to take on extra
duties.
- Able to work independently and function in a fast-paced
environment.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

- Prior alcohol compliance experience at the federal and state
levels
- Bachelor's Degree related to supply chain, business, law, or
related field (preferred).
- Prior knowledge of tax reporting and excise tax payment
processes across multiple states (preferred).
Compensation details: 75000-75000 Yearly Salary
